In cooperation with the New Jersey State Soil Conservation Committee and the New Jersey Department of Agriculture, the leaders of the 14 local soil conservation districts and conservation partners actively implement agricultural, urban and education programs for soil, water and related natural resource conservation and management programs with the active participation of landowners and other volunteers. Soil and Water Stewardship Week recognizes the importance and value of the conservation programs administered by the conservation districts in partnership with the New Jersey Department of Agriculture and the State Soil Conservation Committee. |

In recognition of the importance and value of the conservation programs administered by the conservation districts, Governor Murphy has proclaimed the week of April 24 through May 1, 2022 as Soil And Water Stewardship Week in New Jersey. We urge citizens to help protect our environment through the wise use of soil and water resources and to support the resource management programs of our conservation districts and the many volunteers and professionals who dedicate their time and talents to this worthy cause.
